Upgraded: Boeing's Pat McKenna

Former 717 Chief Named GM Of Boeing Fabrication

Following the delivery of the last two Boeing 717s earlier this week, the head of the company's Long Beach, CA commercial production facility was, technically, out of a job... but not for very long.

On Thursday, Boeing announced that Pat McKenna will soon begin his new job, as vice president and general manager of its Commercial Airplanes Fabrication business unit.

In his new role, McKenna (right) will be responsible for leading nearly 12,000 employees who together comprise the world's largest consolidated aerospace engineering and manufacturing operation. As the largest supplier to Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Fabrication produces aerospace parts, tools and assemblies.

McKenna will report to Carolyn Corvi, vice president and general manager of Airplane Production at Boeing.

Boeing Fabrication is headquartered in Auburn, WA and operates eight other major manufacturing sites in Frederickson and Everett, WA; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; Oak Ridge, TN.; Winnipeg, Canada; and Melbourne and Sydney, Australia.

McKenna fills the Boeing Fabrication leadership position previously held by Ross Bogue who, in February, assumed responsibility as vice president and general manager for 747/767/777 Programs and the Everett site.
