Textron Aviation Plans To Hire 1,000 New Workers This Year

Would Join The 1,000 New Hires From 2018

Textron Aviation plans to hire an additional 1,000 workers this year, following a similar hiring surge in 2018.

The Wichita Business Journal reports that Textron Aviation CEO Ron Draper announced the job growth in a speech at the company's annual customer conference in Wichita. Draper said that the company hired 1,000 people last year, and "we’re probably going to have to hire another 1,000 this year, and that’s great. Some of that is replacing retirements, but most of that is growth. It makes our employees feel like we’re winning again after a number of difficult years.”

The report was confirmed by a Textron Aviation spokesperson. The company currently employs 9,200 people in the Wichita area.
