While at EAA AirVenture 2016, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, decided to check out the new Dynon SkyView HDX. To get the answers, he talked with Ian Jordan, who is the Chief Systems Architect for Dynon Avionics.
Jordan said that this is the latest version of SkyView which originally debuted in 2009. He said the screen provides for a brighter and crisper image, and he also described ergonomic changes to the operation of the system. These changes are subtle, and you’ll have to watch the video understand how ergonomics factored into the new product.
In the video, Jordan also demonstrates the advantages of combining touch screen functions with push switches. He stressed the point that Dynon products are specifically designed for aviation use and are not adapted from other electronic devices.
Jim goes on to ask questions about pricing, accessories, and availability. As these issues are addressed, the video does a great job showing the system in operation.
