Unruly Passenger Restrained By Flight Attendants

Kicked Off Plane, FBI Says Man Not A Terrorist 

In yet another example that flight attendants aren't just there to get you peanuts and coffee -- but are really concerned for your safety -- a JetBlue Airbus A320 made an emergency landing in Orlando, FL to eject one its less desirable passengers.

Flight 457 was fully loaded with 156 passengers and was bound for Fort Lauderdale from Boston Sunday afternoon. After a few hours, an unruly passenger started yelling at the flight crew, threatening them and the passengers.

The verbal confrontation escalated and became physical, said an FBI spokesman... and that's when the flight attendants got involved.

JetBlue spokesman Todd Burke told the Boston Globe, "Obviously, if we have to restrain a customer, it's pretty serious stuff. Our flight attendants did, by all accounts, an amazing job."

The unidentified perp was restrained and handcuffed with plastic ties, until he was released into the custody of the FBI.

The man, described as being in his early 40s, did not seem to have any discernible ties to terrorism, says the agency, and will be charged with interference with a flight crew, which is a federal offense.

After a short delay, the remaining well-behaved passengers finally got to Fort Lauderdale a little before midnight.
