If You’re Looking For The Ultimate Sport In AeroSports, The Reno Air Races Rank High On The Sports Scale
When the word got out that the prime sponsor for the Reno Air Races, Breitling, was no longer participating in the show, there was concern for the survival of the Reno Air Races. Now, reports are that the 2015 race showed a profit, and things are looking good for 2016.
Officially known as the National Championship Air Races, the event is scheduled this year to run from September 14 through the 18th. Another announcement that should boost attendance at the event is that NBC Sports will broadcast a show about last year’s race on March 27. Of course, this ought to be fun to watch, but it also exposes the Reno Air Races to a broad audience and could lead to even more improvement in the attendance.
Two years ago, a special drone area was set up at the air races, and it was a big draw for the younger generation. The ‘Drones Zone’ will be in operation again this year but an added feature is included. It’s been announced that there will also be a drone racing program. It looks like the drones will be turned loose from the cage, and it’s expected to be a fun and exciting event.
Last, but certainly not least, the U.S, Navy Blue Angels will be there for the first time in five years, the Lucas Oil Aerobatics Team is on slate for performing, and the airshow is loading up with other well-known performers.
The Reno Air Races are a great way to get your AeroSports fix.
