FAA Hosts AIXM Conference

Provides Forum To Discuss Global Changes In Aeronautical Information

The FAA has announced plans for an Air Transportation Information Exchange Conference, to be held August 30 - September 1 at the NOAA Science Center & Auditorium in Silver Spring, MD.

This free conference will provide a forum to discuss and exchange concepts and practices related to major global changes in aeronautical information (including exchange structures), information services, and other information sharing related topics to the rapidly growing Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) community.

Informational and technical presentations from key participants will provide opportunities for NextGen and SESAR developers and air transportation information experts to share global programs and initiatives. The conference will be the forum for a kick-off meeting for the new Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM) Change Control Board. Additional information about this board can be found on the ICAO site (MS Word).

The Conference is sponsored by the FAA's Air Traffic Organization, Mission Support Services, Aeronautical Information Management office, and in cooperation with EUROCONTROL and other ATO organizations. Our combined missions are to manage the information necessary to ensure the safety, regularity and efficiency of air navigation.
