Images Leaked Of New DJI Drone

'Mavic' Is Foldable, 'Easy To Fly'

Some images have found their way to the Internet of a new consumer drone from DJI that is rumored to be close to release.

The images of the "Mavic" drone were first leaked by the drone site Heliguy, which currently has a message on that page saying they had been asked to take the content down by DJI. But by then, the horse had left the barn, and Engadget had a couple of photos posted as well.

According to the rumor mill, the Mavic, a name recently trademarked by DJI, will be a foldable 4K flying camera weighing 2.6 pounds. It would appear that the Mavic is aimed directly at buyers who might be considering the GoPro Karma drone, which Investopedia reports will be unveiled on September 19, or the Yuneec Breeze that recently hit the market.

One of the selling points of the Mavic is that it can be folded to a compact size for transport, and that it is "easy to fly."

While it has not been confirmed by DJI, Engadget reports that the Mavic may hit the market a few days before the GoPro Karma. No retail price for the Mavic was reported.
