Longmont, CO Police Monitor Supposed Threat Against Quiet Skies

Comment Made On Group's Facebook Page

Police in Longmont, CO are monitoring a threat made against the citizen's group Citizens for Quiet Skies that was posted as a comment on the group's Facebook page.

The comment was posted using a profile belonging to Anthony Bachner as a reply to post about the death of Logan Polfuss, who was apparently fatally injured in a skydiving accident last month. "How about you (expletive) off talking about the death of a friend of mine? You'll find me at the next city council meeting with metal baseball bat and you can kiss your car windows goodbye," Bachner wrote. The Longmont Times-Call newspaper reports that the comment was captured in a screenshot by Citizens for Quiet Skies leader Kim Gibbs and shared with Longmont officials.

Bachner has told police that he had made the comments during an "emotional" time following Polfuss' death. He said he has no intention of making good on the threat. In a Facebook message to the paper, Bachner said he would have no further comment on the issue.

Longmont police Deputy Chief Jeff Satur said the department would "follow up as necessary" and would have additional resources at the council meeting if they were warranted.

Polfuss was jumping with Mile-Hi Skydiving, which has long been a target of a vicious group known as Citizens for Quiet Skies -- who conducted an aggressive campaign that ultimately caused them to be responsible for significant fees awarded by a court after months of harassment and legal assaults.
