Elected Officials, Industry Leaders Headline GA Rally

GAMA Sponsored Event To Highlight Contributions Of GA To Iowa Economy

GAMA has teamed up with Rockwell Collins to hold a general aviation (GA) rally this week featuring Senator Charles Grassley and Representatives Tom Latham, Leonard Boswell, Steve King and Bruce Braley.

The rally will be hosted by Clay Jones, president & CEO of Rockwell Collins. Mr. Jones will be joined by Daphne Falletti, president of Goodrich Corporation’s Engine Components division.  Both Rockwell Collins and Goodrich Corporation have general aviation manufacturing facilities in Iowa. A crowd of over 300 general aviation employees and enthusiasts are expected to gather at the Rockwell Collins Flight Operations Center along with many local community and business leaders.

The rally is planned for Wednesday, August 17th at 0930 CDT at the Rockwell Collins Flight Operations Center in Cedar Rapids, IA.

General aviation contributes more than $1.4 billion to the state’s economy annually and GA manufacturers alone employ more than 2,000 Iowans.  Nationwide, the general aviation industry contributes more than $150 billion to the U.S. economy each year and supports 1.2 million jobs.
