FAA Administrator Michael Huerta To Speak At NBAA's 2013 Convention

Will Keynote The Opening General Session

The NBAA announced Wednesday that FAA Administrator Michael Huerta will speak at the Opening General Session of NBAA's 2013 Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA2013), which will take place Oct. 22 to 24 in Las Vegas, NV.

"We are pleased to welcome Administrator Huerta (pictured) to our 2013 Convention, and we look forward to hearing his thoughts and perspectives on the issues of greatest concern to the industry," said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen.

Administrator Huerta was scheduled to speak at NBAA's 2012 Convention, but had to amend his plans when Hurricane Sandy, which made landfall in the days just before NBAA's event, caused major disruptions to the nation's aviation system. Before his confirmation as FAA administrator on Jan. 1, 2013, Huerta served as deputy administrator of the agency. Prior to joining the FAA, Huerta held senior positions at Affiliated Computer Services from 2002 to 2009, and served as the executive director of the Port of San Francisco from 1989 to 1993, and as commissioner of New York City's Department of Ports, International Trade and Commerce from 1986 to 1989.

Administrator Huerta will be one of several speakers at the NBAA2013 Opening General Session held on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 8:30 am to 10 am. NBAA will announce others who have accepted invitations to speak at the Opening General Session and other 2013 Convention sessions in the weeks ahead.

Huerta missed AirVenture at Oshkosh this year, citing a previous family obligation.
