Liberty University Orders Additional Seminole During EAA AirVenture

Part Of A Long Term Agreement Between The Planemaker And The University

Piper Aircraft has announced an order for a new Piper Seminole twin-engine trainer to Liberty University School of Aeronautics. The order was received during the first day of EAA AirVenture. This most recent order is part of a long-term agreement originally signed in 2013 between Piper and Liberty University.

Over the past fourteen years, the Liberty University flight program has grown from four students to over eight hundred, becoming one of the fastest growing university flight programs in the United States. Since 2013 the school has taken delivery of 3 Seminoles and 2 Arrows. This most recent order will be their fourth Seminole delivery which will take place in 2017.

"The School of Aeronautics at Liberty exists to produce aviation professionals with the values and character to make a positive impact wherever they go. Our partnership with Piper adds great value to the program with their outstanding training aircraft and as a superb model of professionalism and service. We look forward to our continued work with Piper to develop aviation leaders and to keep aviation in America great," said Dean of the School of Aeronautics James P. Malloy.

Malloy said, "The new Seminole purchased this week during EAA AirVenture completes a flight training system that will be even better than before at producing highly competent and safe pilots to meet industry demands."

"As Liberty University continues to expand their aviation programs, Piper Aircraft is proud to be part of their growth and success. They continue to demonstrate their commitment to excellence and their students by providing new degree programs and opportunities. We look forward to their continued success and to providing more Piper trainers in support of their aviation programs," said Piper President and CEO Simon Caldecott.
