Piper Aircraft has received orders for two Pilot 100i single-engine trainers from the Tuskegee Airmen Inc., inspired aviation scholarship program, the RedTail Flight Academy (RFA).

The RedTail Flight Academy, which began its legacy with the Major General Irene-Trowel Harris Chapter, Tuskegee Airmen, will officially begin training students in September 2021. The Academy, with a mission of honoring the legacy of the original Tuskegee Airmen, will be based at New York Stewart International Airport, will train to a Part 141 curriculum, and will start with six pilot scholarships, increasing to thirty students per year by 2026. The installation of a new Diamond simulator is the latest upgrade by Leading Edge Aviation. The device forms an important part of the Multi-Engine phase of training and with a growing number of students, the second DA42 simulator couldn’t come soon enough for the company. It sits alongside their existing DA42 and A320 simulators situated at their Sim Centre. Sporty’s Commercial Pilot Training Course now includes updated video content. The new video content is organized into six main chapters: Flight Maneuvers, Weather, Performance, High-Altitude Systems, Navigation, and Regulations. Shot using multiple HD camera angles, pilots will learn how to fly each of the new commercial pilot maneuvers. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
