FAA Administrator Steve Dickson Under Self-Quarantine

Held A Brief Meeting With Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL), Who Has Tested Positive For The Virus

FAA Administrator Steve Dickson has placed himself under self-quarantine for seven days after having a brief meeting with U.S. Representative Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) ahead of a House hearing held on March 11. The Congressman has tested positive for the Coronavirus.

“For the next week, like many of you, I will be teleworking from home. From there, I will continue to support the courageous efforts of our 58,000 employees and contractors during this trying period for our nation,” Dickson told colleagues Thursday, according to a report from The Washington Post.

Dickson said he has not been tested and remains asymptomatic. “Following the advice of healthcare professionals within the FAA and around the country, I have not received a COVID-19 test, because I have no symptoms associated with the virus. Should that change, I will immediately be tested,” he wrote in the letter to employees.

Dickson is a former senior executive for Delta Airlines. He said he is following the protocols established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
