'Barefoot Bandit' Pleads Not Guilty

Had Hoped For A Plea Deal That Would Allow Him To Sell His Story

After an alleged two-year crime spree across the continental U.S. and into the Bahamas, Colton Harris-Moore ... aka the "Barefoot Bandit" ... has pleaded not guilty in a federal court in Seattle.

Colton-Moore is accused of stealing cars, boats, and airplanes in his trek across the country, which ended after he allegedly ditched a stolen Cessna Corvalis off the coast of Abaco in the Bahamas and was caught several days later by local authorities. His lawyer said he had hoped to secure a plea arrangement that would, among other things, allow him to sell his story in an effort to make restitution for his actions.

Media sources including The Wall Street Journal report that the deal fell through, and he entered the plea of "not guilty" on Thursday.
