Landmark Aviation Awarded New 37-Year Lease At KSAN

Long Term Contract For FBO At San Diego International

The Airport Authority Board at San Diego International Airport (KSAN) has awarded a 37-year lease to Landmark Aviation to operate an FBO at San Diego International Airport. Landmark, which acquired Jimsair Aviation Services, Inc. in July of 2008, is the current FBO operator on the field.

“We have enjoyed working with the San Diego Airport Authority over the past four years, and we are excited to continue that relationship,” stated Dan Bucaro, President and CEO of Landmark. “We have also developed some great relationships within the San Diego community, and look forward to continuing our involvement there as well. San Diego International is an important field for general aviation. Retaining it within the Landmark network continues our focus on such high quality markets.”

Under the new agreement, Landmark will design, build and operate a new FBO, with a 20,000 square foot terminal, a 250,000 square foot ramp and five hangars on 12.4 acres of airfield. The new FBO building is required to achieve LEED Silver certification from the US Green Building Council. However, Landmark has committed to achieve LEED Platinum certification, the highest possible rating.

“This award marks an exciting moment for San Diego’s aviation community,” said Thella F. Bowens, President/CEO of the Airport Authority. “The new FBO will be a beautiful addition to our airport. We have had a wonderful experience working with Landmark, and look forward to many more years of partnership.”
In 2011 Landmark added eleven locations to its growing network, including key markets such as Miami, Atlanta, Tampa and Oakland, bringing the total number of Landmark Aviation FBOs to 52.
