ExpressJet Airlines has
selected Hamilton Sundstrand to provide repair and inventory
support for the air management system on its fleet of Embraer
135/145 regional jet aircraft. This is a 12-year agreement in which
Hamilton Sundstrand will provide support for the current ExpressJet
fleet of 223 aircraft, and up to 274 aircraft by mid-2006.
According to Dave Stone, Hamilton Sundstrand customer support
manager for regional airlines, the company is delighted to have
this contract with ExpressJet. "ExpressJet is an exceptional
partner for a long-term, comprehensive package for our air
management system support," he said.
ExpressJet's Jay Perez,
senior director-material, noted, "This service program will provide
ExpressJet several advantages, including high parts availability
and improved on-wing reliability at a fixed hourly rate. With this
innovative program, Hamilton Sundstrand has the logistics in place
to manage all spares inventory needs with no operational impact to
our fleet."
Hamilton Sundstrand has provided its airline customers worldwide
a Comprehensive Accessory Repair and Exchange (CARE) program that
offers repair and inventory support. Hamilton Sundstrand's service
program has been in place for more than five years.
"This particular CARE agreement represents a significant
milestone for Hamilton Sundstrand and adds to our momentum in the
regional airline market," said Tim Davis, Hamilton Sundstrand
director of regional airline marketing. "The program is well suited
to today's regional airline because it provides long-term financial
benefits combined with a strong operational commitment."
