RotorWay International
tells us that they just sold the 700th Exec 162F, yet another
milestone for the world's oldest kit helicopter company. The
aircraft went to a customer in Australia, one of the largest
markets for the Exec 162E outside of the United States. In
Australia, aside from the recreational flying that is common with
this helicopter, it is also a choice for use in cattle mustering on
ranches or "stations", as they are most commonly referred to.
Leading the push for the Australian market is RotorWay's
representative, Kevin Lunn. "Australia is RotorWay country. What
better place to have your own personal helicopter than the
wilderness of the outback or on a large cattle station?" asks Lunn.
"We're excited about the sales trends in this market and the
potential for growth."
"The fact that 700 of this model have been sold testifies to the
proven performance and endurance of this aircraft and it's
continued popularity around the world, " says Brent Marshall/VP
Sales for RotorWay International. "It's versatility for a variety
of uses has opened up the international market to all sorts of
possibilities."
The Exec 162E has been sold in over 50 countries around the
world for use in everything from cattle mustering and forestry work
to agricultural spraying and police surveillance. The most recent
market to open up to RotorWay International and the Exec 162E has
been China. According to Marshall, "we're excited about the
potential of this market as they develop the experimental category
and the general aviation market as a whole for their
upwardly-mobile citizens."
