Extra Aircraft Shows First EA-500 Aircraft With Avidyne Entegra Release 9 Suite

Release 9 Selected For Next-Generation System Archetecture

Avidyne Corporation, a leading provider of integrated flight deck and safety systems for general aviation aircraft, and Extra Aircraft LLC Thursday unveiled the Entegra Release 9 Integrated Flight Deck avionics suite for the Extra EA-500 aircraft.  Extra Aircraft was the first manufacturer to choose the innovative Entegra Release 9 suite as factory-standard equipment.

"We chose Avidyne for their innovation, overall ease of use, and truly-redundant system architecture," said Walter Extra, founder of Extra Aircraft. "We are quite pleased with the progress we have made in integrating the Release 9 Flight Deck into the EA-500 aircraft.  Release 9 is a key differentiator for our high-performance aircraft."

"Extra has been a terrific OEM partner and we are excited to have our Entegra Release 9 system as the flight deck on the EA-500," said Dan Schwinn, Avidyne's President and CEO. "Extra's new high-performance business-class aircraft is a perfect match for the Release 9 system, which was designed specifically to make single-pilot IFR flying safer and easier."

EA-500 the 1st customer delivery will take place at Aero Friedrichshafen  Additional announcements will be forthcoming.
