While at EAA AirVenture 2016, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, came across a story that needs to be told and that’s what this video does. The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is well known for preserving the history of military aviation and, in particular, military aviation as it applies to the fighting forces of the United States.
The CAF has been heavily involved in spreading the word of the importance and significance of a group of fighter pilots known as the Tuskegee Airmen. Now, the President and CEO of the CAF, Stephan Brown, tells us they’re in the process of creating a new program that tells the story of the Women Air Force Service Pilots (WASP) who served bravely in World War II, and have a story to tell that is truly inspiring. As you watch the video you’ll hear Brown give a detailed account of how the program will be operated, and we’re sure you’ll be pleased with what he says.
The conversation then moves on to the restoration project of the C-47 named, “That’s All Brother.” It’s hard to imagine that this airplane is the actual airplane that led the airborne troops across the English Channel on D-Day in 1944. That airplane is now being restored to become a flying museum dedicated to our fighting forces that liberated Europe.
This is an inspiring video report that needs to be viewed.
