Air Caraibes Signs For One Embraer 190

Caribbean Carrier Operates Two ERJ-145s, E-175

Embraer signed a contract with Air Caraibes to sell one Embraer 190 jet. The delivery is scheduled for late 2007 and the deal also includes an option for purchasing another aircraft of the same model.

The Caribbean airline already operates two ERJ-145 jets, and received its first E-Jet -- a leased Embraer 175 --  earlier this month.

"The decision by Air Caraibes to increase its fleet with E-Jets is a testimony of its loyalty to Embraer," said Luiz Fernando Fuchs, Embraer Senior Vice-President for Europe, Africa and Middle East, Airline Market. "The efficient new technology, superior comfort and significant economy of the Embraer E-jets had a decisive influence on the customer's choice."

The Embraer 190 will be configured in a single-class layout, for 100 passengers. Along with the Embraer 175, it will complement Air Caraibes' flight offerings throughout the French Antilles, Caribbean and South America.

"Considering the good operational results achieved by our ERJ 145 jets, we naturally considered Embraer when it became clear to us that we had to increase our intra-Caribbean fleet," said Jean-Paul Dubreuil, Chairman of Air Caraibes. "The Embraer 190 will increase the flexibility of our operations to and from Pointe-a-Pitre, in Guadeloupe, and Fort de France, in Martinique."
