CHAOS Campaign Aimed At Telling UAL To Get Smart

UAL Flight Attendants Continue Campaign To Create Havoc

Perhaps you've heard of it. It's called CHAOS -- Create Havoc Around Our System, a campaign being waged by United Airlines flight attendants who struck again Thursday at Northwestern University in Chicago, Il.

Ten FAs wearing green t-shirts barged into a class at the university's Kellogg School of Management where United Airlines board director Dipak Jain is the dean. But the chaos was on the protestors who ran down the aisles of the classroom only to find Jain wasn't at the podium -- a guest speaker was leading the class instead. The CHAOS protestors, all members of the Association of Flight Attendants, handed the speaker a petition signed by 12,000 current and former UAL workers demanding changes in the company's executive pay and worker pensions.

“United employees are outraged and aren’t going to take it anymore,” said Sara Nelson Dela Cruz, strike coordinator for the flight attendants association. She was quoted by Crain's Chicago Business.

If a bankruptcy judge approves, the government's Pension Guaranty Board would take over United's $6.6 billion pension fund -- resulting in vastly reduced benefits for UAL workers.
