Aviat Aircraft Host To Annual Factory Fly-In

Like Swallows To Capistrano...

Every September, Aviat Aircraft invites the owners and prospective owners of Huskys, the Pup and Pitts Specials to fly-in (or drive in) for a few days of aerial competitions, hangar talk and some serious seminars on getting the most utility and fun from their aircraft.  This year the event, in Afton (WY), is open to all pilots and begins on Friday, September 5th.

The event runs through the entire weekend.

Attendees who arrive in an aircraft manufactured by Aviat will receive free aircraft service and advice. Friday evening, a casual dinner is planned at the factory along with facility tours.

Beginning on Saturday morning, there will be a series of lectures and discussions on subjects relevant to Husky and Pitts owners.  Following the classroom experiences, flying contests and demo flights will be staged.  On Sunday, following a continental breakfast, the pilots will begin heading home.

"It's clearly a relaxing weekend," said Aviat President Stu Horn.

"Since we all have the activity of the Aviat factory in common, it makes for a receptive audience in sharing flying experiences.  We try to provide some practical information and they embellish the discussions with stories that are sometimes harrowing, other times just a lot of fun.  It's always educational.  By the time it ends, most people have made some new friends and a lot of those relationships continue long after the event."

Anyone may attend the Aviat Aircraft Factory Fly-In.  The cost for the program, including all meals, is $40 per person.
