Florida FBO Offering Access To Online Associate's Degree Program

Jacobs Flight Center Has Partnered With Charter College Aviation In Reno, NV

A Florida FBO has been approved for a partnership with a Nevada aviation program allowing Jacobs Flight Services to begin offering a two-year associate's degree in aviation.

The approval came two months ago, according to a report in the Clewiston (FL) News. Students do their flight training with the FBO and work through the Charter College Aviation online to attain the Associate of Applied Science in Aviation degree.

The FBO has set up a workstation on site with two monitors allowing students to participate in online classes and complete coursework. The program has been approved by the Department of Education as well as the FAA, meaning that students can take advantage of scholarships and other financial aid.

Courses include aerodynamics, navigation, meteorology, commercial aviation, and law along with 250 hours of flight training.

At the completion of the course, students have a pilot certificate as well as the associate's degree.

Charter College Aviation in Reno, NV has affiliations with 15 FBOs around the country, mostly in the western half of the U.S. There are two locations in Florida and one in Virginia.
