Flight Attendants At Hawaiian Reach Tentative Agreement

Negotiations Facilitated By NMB Resulted In The Deal

The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) at Hawaiian Airlines announced Monday they have reached a tentative agreement with management. The agreement was reached with the assistance of the National Mediation Board (NMB) utilizing a "Facilitated Problem Solving" approach to negotiations.  While the NMB's facilitation ended prior to an agreement being reached, its services enabled the parties to close out the remaining issues without direct involvement by the NMB.

"This agreement recognizes the contributions that the over 1,200 Flight Attendants make on a daily basis to the tremendous success of our airline," said Sharon Soper, AFA President at Hawaiian. "We thank the NMB for their assistance in this innovative approach to negotiations that highlighted the collaborative relationship AFA shares with Hawaiian management."

Terms of the agreement will be submitted to AFA leadership at Hawaiian and, if approved, will be sent to the membership for ratification. Full details of the tentative agreement will not be made public until they are presented to the membership.
