Korean Pilot Accused Of Propaganda

Korean Air Embarrassed Its Employee Promoted North Korean Regime

The Los Angeles Times is quoting a spokesman for Korean Air, which was founded in 1962 by the government of South Korea, as saying the airline is "embarrassed and shocked" at the news that one of its pilots started a pro-North-Korean propaganda website in 2006.

USA Today reports the pilot, whose surname is Kim but whose full name was not released, has posted more than 60 articles over the past five years critical of his own government and promoting North Korean propaganda. Such activity is illegal in South Korea, where police raided the 45-year-old's home in October and seized his computer and books.

Kim is also out of a job, at least for now. Fearing he might defect to the north, South Korean officials have banned him from leaving the country, and asked the airline to stop assigning him flights.
