Pilatus Business Aircraft Celebrates 10 Years

Two-Thirds Of PC-12 Fleet Sold By CO Subsidiary

Pilatus is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the founding of its US arm, Pilatus Business Aircraft, Ltd. (PilBAL), based at Jefferson County Airport (Jeffco) in Broomfield, CO. The wholly owned subsidiary was founded in 1996, and provides completions, marketing, sales, and service for Pilatus aircraft in North and South America.

"PilBAL has enjoyed tremendous growth over the last ten years," said Pilatus Aircraft President and CEO Oscar Schwenk. "It’s grown from a small handful of employees into a multimillion dollar operation involved in selling, completing, and supporting 70 percent of the PC-12 deliveries in the world."

Since PilBAL’s inception, more than 430 PC-12s have passed through its doors headed for customers in North and South America -- or about two-thirds of the over 600 PC-12s in use worldwide by owner-pilots, corporations, regional airlines, air ambulance operators, government agencies, fractional operators, and charter companies.

"PilBAL is an integral part of Pilatus," said Thomas Hunziker, President and CEO of PilBAL. "Our staff is extremely dedicated to the PC-12, and we all aspire to keep it the top selling and supported turbine aircraft in business aviation. With the PC-12s increasing popularity, I have no doubt that ten years from now, when we are celebrating our 20th anniversary, we will fondly remember today, and smile again at how far we’ve come."

Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. was founded in 1939, and provides aircraft and aviation services worldwide for the general aviation, commercial, training, utility, and special mission markets.
