Counting Down... Heli-Expo 2006 Is Almost Here!

ANN Will Be There To Report On ALL The Heli-Happenings

HELI-EXPO 2006 is less than two weeks away and HAI staff members are working hard to prepare for the world’s largest convention and exposition dedicated to the civil helicopter industry.

HELI-EXPO 2006 will take place February 26-28, 2006, at the Dallas Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. Opening ceremonies will take place Sunday, February 26 at 10:45 a.m., with the exhibit hall opening at 11:00 a.m. and closing at 5:00 p.m. The exhibit hall hours on Monday, February 27 will be 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the hours on Tuesday, February 28 will be 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Attendee and press registration begins Saturday, February 25 at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. On Sunday and Monday, attendee and press registration will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., and on Tuesday, attendee and press registration will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

This year’s Professional Education Series begins February 21 and will take place at the Hilton Anatole Hotel. The Professional Education Series will include courses in maintenance management, safety management, crisis management, mountain flying, and many other important topics. Registration materials for all courses may be obtained at the HAI Education Registration Desk, located at the Atrium Registration Desk of the Hilton Anatole Hotel.

HAI Membership Booth (#1801) is located inside the convention center. HAI staff will be available throughout the exposition to answer questions on HAI activities and programs including standing committee meetings, manufacturers briefings, forums, roundtables, seminars, and workshops. The 2006 HELI-EXPO Job Fair will take place on Sunday, February 26 from 1:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in Ballroom C at the Dallas Convention Center. The job fair will be preceded by the maintenance technicians mentoring seminar, and the pilots mentoring seminar, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., in rooms C144 and C145, respectively. The job fair and mentoring seminars are open to anyone interested in pursuing a career in the civil helicopter industry.

This year’s special events include the Membership Reception, the Annual General Membership Meeting and Breakfast, and the “Salute to Excellence” Awards Celebration. The Membership Reception will take place on Saturday, February 25 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., in the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Anatole Hotel, HAI’s official headquarters hotel. The 58th Annual General Membership Meeting and Breakfast will be held on Sunday, February 26 from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Dallas Convention Center. Members will be informed of the latest HAI reports and meet this year’s slate of candidates for election to HAI’s Board of Directors. The “Salute to Excellence” Awards Celebration will be held on Monday, February 27, from 8:00 p.m. until 12:00 midnight, in Trinity II, at the Hilton Anatole Hotel. The “Salute to Excellence” Awards honor those individuals and organizations, whose remarkable talent and professionalism advance and enrich the helicopter industry, and whose courage and skills have saved lives in extreme conditions.
