NBAA Releases Updated Management Guide
In a move reflective of the evolving landscape of the business aviation sector, the National Business Aviation Association has released an updated version of its Management Guide, a cornerstone resource for aviation leadership. As announced on April 8, 2024, this guide, now available in an exclusively online format for NBAA members, addresses the increasing alignment of flight department operations with mainstream corporate practices.
Bill Riter, CAM and aviation department manager for Rich Products Corporation, emphasizes that the guide is designed to reflect and instill company values and objectives within flight department teams. This edition not only consolidates decades of industry wisdom on operational excellence but also ventures into current concerns such as workplace diversity, employee well-being, and ethical practices in business transactions.
Highlighting the dynamic nature of the aviation industry, Riter pointed out the strategic decision to offer the guide in a digital format. This choice not only facilitates accessibility for professionals on the move but also ensures the guide remains a living document, adaptable through continuous updates and enriched with hyperlinks for in-depth information.
A notable enhancement in this edition is its alignment with the Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) program, reinforcing the guide's utility as a preparatory tool for obtaining the CAM designation, recognized for its excellence by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies.
NBAA's President and CEO Ed Bolen remarks on the guide's broader objective to support the professional development of all association members, reflecting the diversity of operations within the industry. This mission is further supported by NBAA's offerings, including the Leadership Conference, the Professional Development Program, and scholarships aimed at fostering career advancement in business aviation.
The updated NBAA Management Guide marks a significant step towards enriching the toolkit of today's aviation leaders, equipped to navigate the complexities of a modern business environment while steering their teams towards operational and ethical excellence.
