Duncan Upgrades Falcon 900B With Universal InSight Display

Extensive Mx Service With Avionics Upgrade, 2C Inspection, Interior Refurb

Duncan Aviation recently completed a major servicing on a Dassault Falcon 900B that included a 2C Inspection, extensive avionics upgrades, and refurbishment of the interior. For the avionics the owner chose to upgrade the installed CRT equipment with the Universal Avionics InSight Flight Display System that provides sharp displays with cutting-edge 3D graphics for the synthetic vision system, weather, terrain, and traffic systems.

The upgrades increase the pilots’ situational awareness as well as better safety for everyone on board the aircraft.

Jeff Simmons, Senior Avionics Sales Rep said, “The new Universal InSight is a fantastic option for customers with aging avionics and no path for future enhancements. This upgrade gives 30+ year old aircraft a flight deck that incorporates the latest safety features and capabilities found on new production aircraft.”

With the upgrade to InSight displays adding safety and efficiency, the NZ-2000 Flight Management System was retained. The lighter flight deck also resulted in shedding more than 250 pounds of obsolete avionics equipment and wires from the aircraft’s nose, adding fuel savings and lower operating costs to the benefits of the upgrade.

The owner also opted to install a new Alto Cadence Cabin Management System or CMS, which will provide passengers with streamlined controls in the cabin. It provides an aesthetic improvement along with Bluetooth connectivity and USB charging ports for passenger convenience.

Simmons added, “Although seen for its entertainment features, a CMS is truly that—a Cabin Management System. It controls all of your cabin functionality from the Galley to the Lav, while also offering control of the entertainment. Alto Cadence allows customers to upgrade from their non-supported CMS to a cost-effective solution that keeps operation simple and stylish.”
