Lancair Unveils Flat Panel For Columbia Certified Aircraft

Lancair Columbia pilots can now enjoy a greater level of situational awareness thanks to the Avidyne FlightMax Entegra integrated flight deck available on all Lancair Columbia 350s and 400s. The FlightMax Entegra system will be on display at The Lancair Company's Sun'n Fun booth in Columbia 400 prototype N143LC.

"Our customers have always demanded the latest in avionics and the FlightMax Entegra is definitely the state of the art for general aviation aircraft," said Lancair President Bing Lantis. "This system is as good as or better than what you would expect to find in most business jets or commercial airliners for a lot less money than traditional EFIS systems. I suspect nearly all of our customers will spec this system for their aircraft."

FlightMax Entegra's focal point is its full-color, primary flight display (PFD) and multi-function display (MFD), designed to provide pilots with all the information needed to manage the aircraft and safely determine their routes, speeds, and proximity to adverse weather conditions, terrain and other aircraft. Though all necessary flight data is displayed between the PFD and MFD, Lancair's Entegra-equipped Columbia's will also come with back-up analog conventional flight instruments.

FlightMax Entegra presents standard flight instrumentation including attitude indicator (EAI), horizontal situation indicator (EHSI), altitude, airspeed, vertical speed, moving map, weather, terrain, and traffic on large 10.4-inch diagonal, high-resolution, sunlight-readable full color displays, in easy-to-read formats. The Entegra PFD conveys traditional primary flight instrumentation as well as a pilot-selectable moving map presentation of flight plan data and an RMI pointer, all within the primary field of view, reducing pilot workload. The versatile FlightMax EX5000 MFD can display navigation data, datalink weather, lightning, traffic, and terrain with an intuitive user interface.

Based in Bend, Oregon, The Lancair Company manufactures the Lancair Columbia line of certified, high performance, composite aircraft.
