GAMA Statement Welcomes FAA MOSAIC Final Rule

U.S. Sec Transportation Duffy’s Announcement At EAA AirVenture

Following U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean P. Duffy’s announcement of the completion of the FAA’s MOSAIC rule expanding light sport aircraft criteria and operations, as well as other aspects of general aviation while at the EAA AirVenture airshow and fly-in at Wittman Regional Airport (KOSH) in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the General Aviation Manufacturers Association released a statement welcoming the news.

James Viola, President and CEO of GAMA said, “GAMA welcomes today’s announcement on MOSAIC. While we will need to review the final rule in more detail, GAMA deeply appreciates the efforts of Secretary Duffy, the U.S. Department of Transportation, FAA and the U.S. Congress for their efforts to continuously improve safety and innovation in general aviation and bring MOSAIC to fruition.

“The MOSAIC rule expands the scope of light sport aircraft category, reducing regulatory burden consistent with the FAA safety continuum that will in turn support opportunities to improve certification processes for Part 23 aircraft.

“This rule plays a crucial role to ensure the U.S. regulatory structure is better designed to advance safety, innovation and the utility of general aviation. Today’s announcement is an essential step forward for advancing the future of the general aviation industry.“

GAMA fosters and advances the general welfare, safety, interests, and activities of the global business and general aviation industry. It promotes a better understanding of general aviation manufacturing, maintenance, repair, and overhaul and the importance of the role these segments play in economic growth and opportunities as well as serving communities, companies, and individuals worldwide with their critical transportation needs.
