Hard to believe, but NASA has delayed the Artemis II and Artemis III missions, AGAIN, which were expected to return astronauts to the moon for the first time since 1972, until 2026 and 2027. The decision was made to allow engineers to continue testing on the Orion crew capsule. Tickets for EAA’s AirVenture Oshkosh 2025 are on sale. CAF Opens Donations to Restore P-39 Airacobra

“Miss Connie” is One of Only Three P-39 Fighters in Flying Condition

The Commemorative Air Force recently opened donations towards restoring its P-39 Airacobra, “Miss Connie”, through the 12 Planes of Christmas program. “Miss Connie” was manufactured by Bell Aircraft in 1943 and is one of only three P-39 fighters to remain airworthy. The aircraft is based at the Central Texas CAF Wing in San Marcos, Texas.

Helicopter Violated Regs By Flying Too Low Over Lake

Local Resident Flew In Close Proximity To Boaters

After investigating a complaint about a helicopter flying low last summer over Candlewood Lake near Danbury, Connecticut, the FAA determined that the pilot did in fact violate regulations and will decide what actions to take. The Robinson R-22 was flown by New Milford resident Avi Shevah, who allegedly flew low over the lake and hovered in close proximity to boaters. These unsubstantiated actions took place during a series of flights between late July and early September, according to a complaint submitted to the FAA.

Feud Among Charter Brokers Escalates

Linear Air Alleges New Violations, Possible Threats By Jettly, OneFlight

Charter broker Linear Air is alleging that three of its competitors have responded to complaints it filed with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) with potentially retaliatory threats of their own. During the week of November 26, 2024, Linear Air filed complaints against Jettly, OneFlight International, and Surf Air, saying the three displayed charter pricing that violated Part 295 governing charter brokers, and Part 399.84, which requires advertised prices for air transportation to be the entire price to be paid by the customer.

NTSB Prelim: Cirrus Design Corp SR20

While Landing On The Soft Desert Terrain, The Flight Instructor Flared Aggressively To Reduce Ground Speed

On October 27, 2024, about 1712 mountain standard time, a Cirrus SR20, N27WF, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near St. George, Utah. The flight instructor, student pilot, and passenger were not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 instructional flight. The flight instructor stated that the purpose of the flight was to drop the passenger off in Provo, Utah, while also providing the owner/student with familiarization experience in the airplane.

Our ANN video crew was at the ‘Wings Over The Rockies Blue Star Weekend’ event that occurred during the first weekend of May, 2016. This event, with support from the National Museum of World War II Aviation, presented a Blue Star Weekend, which is a special Mother’s Day event honoring veterans and mothers of veterans. One of the features of the weekend was the arrival of EAA’s B-17G, known as the ‘Aluminum Overcast.’ The B-17 and its crew were there to display the aircraft and provide rides in this historical airplane.
