Largest Direct Jet Order By Scandinavian Airlines Since 1996

Scandinavian Airlines placed an order for 45 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft with options for an additional 10 in the largest direct manufacturer jet order by SAS since 1996. The aircraft are intended for the airline’s fleet renewal program focusing on efficiency, reducing emissions, and opening future growth opportunities.

The value of the order excluding purchase rights is an estimated $4 billion, and the first deliveries from Embraer are anticipated to start in late 2027 and extending until approximately 2031.

The E195-E2 is powered by Pratt & Whitney PW 1900G GTF engines that are said to yield double-digit reductions in fuel consumption, emissions, and noise compared to previous generation aircraft.

The order represents another step in the future-focused evolution of SAS through support of a modernized fleet and improved travel experience. The airline continues to bolster its network and international horizons as it enhances connectivity among regional cities as well as global destinations with its sustainable and seamless operations.
