Poland Finalizes Deal For 96 AH-64E Apache Helicopters

Largest Foreign Order In Program’s History Nets Boeing $4.7B Contract

The Polish Armed Forces finalized a deal with Boeing for 96 AH-64E Apache attack helicopters in a contract worth $4.7 billion. The order is the largest in the program’s history by a foreign nation and was accomplished under the U.S. government’s Foreign Military Sales process.

The Polish Ministry of National Defence (MND) currently leases eight helicopters from the U.S. Army and has been training pilots and maintenance personnel for the arrival of their newly purchased helicopters.

Christina Upah, Vice President of Boeing’s Attack Helicopter Programs said, “Working closely with the Polish Armed Forces, we’re focused on disciplined execution to help enhance Poland’s defense capabilities and keep up with the strong demand for the most advanced attack helicopter.”

She added that the deal enables Boeing to start creating “one of the largest and most formidable Apache fleets that the world has ever seen.” Deliveries of the 96 Apaches to the Polish Armed Forces is anticipated to begin in 2028.

Boeing and the MND entered an offset agreement in 2024 under which Boeing will assist in maintaining the Apache fleet, establish training programs, and develop a composites lab in Poland.

With this order, Poland becomes the 19th operator of the Apache globally, and deliveries under this order will join the more than 1,300 Apaches currently operating.

The AH-46E Apache Guardian model is the most advanced variant of the Apache series and features enhanced engines and new composite rotor blades that provide superior combat capabilities. Boeing said the E model has developed into the “most proven, advanced configuration” that brings “lethality, survivability, connectivity and interoperability to the battlefield.”
