Composite Engineering And High-Efficiency Aerodynamics Redefine Performance
Taking up a pivotal slot at the 2025 Affordable Flying Expo, Porto Aviation Group is an aerospace innovator and manufacturer based in Cremella, Lecco, Italy, that specializes in dynamic, high-performance aircraft made of advanced lightweight carbon-fiber composites.

The company’s primary models are the ultralight Risen 912iS and the Risen SV 916 Super Veloce -- and their appearance invokes stares at every turn.
Alberto Porto first conceived his Risen aircraft in 1995 but knew it would take years to bring it to fruition, and in fact it was put on hold while he focused on his high-level fluid dynamics and engineering company. He and his partners used the knowledge and experience gained from that period to begin building the first Risen prototype in 2010, and the airplane took its maiden flight in 2012.
The exceptional results of that first and many subsequent test flights led to the project being presented to investors, and with their backing, Porto was able to begin production planning and making the tooling. The first production airplane was introduced at the Aero global general aviation show in Friedrichshafen, Germany, in April 2015. In December of that year, Porto himself set a new world speed record of 323 km/h / 174 kts with the standard Rotax 912 ULS 100 hp engine.

Since then, the 916 SV Super Veloce has achieved cruise speeds exceeding 400 km/h / 216 kts, and it holds the absolute speed record of 428 km/h / 231 kts in the light sport category. The Risen aircraft line is designed for pilots who demand speed and sophistication. It features side-by-side seating for two, retractable gear, panoramic canopy, and an ergonomically optimized cockpit. Its lightweight structure and excellent aerodynamics provide notable fuel efficiency and extended range, making it suitable for sport flying, advanced pilot training, and touring. 19Porto Aviation offers two primary variants, and both come standard-equipped with glass panel displays that include a choice of either the Garmin G3X or Dynon HDX, autopilot and TCAS. Additional options include IFR capability with advanced GPS, VNAV, autopilot, TCAS, heated pitot and oxygen system.
The 'ultralight' Risen 912iS comes with a standard Rotax 912iS 100 hp engine and the light sport class Risen 916iS SV has the Rotax 916iS 160 hp engine. Both engines are FADEC fuel injected, and either normally aspirated or turbocharged. Both airframes incorporate a ballistic rescue parachute system. Porto Aviation Group is committed to continuous innovation and collaborates with research institutions to advance composite technology as well as flight dynamics.

The company has a strong presence at international aviation expos and its strategic focus encompasses global distribution, customer support, and developing new models that meet performance and regulatory standards. Porto’s growing success reflects a trend toward lightweight, high-efficiency aircraft that blend speed with safety and sustainability. Its Risen models form the cornerstone of its commitment to challenging conventional limits and attracting a new generation of aviators.
