Phoenix Heliparts To Deliver Highly Customized MD530F To California Customer

Arizona Company Nearly Fully Booked For 2014

Modification and Integration specialist, Phoenix Heliparts has contracted with a California pilot for a total refurbishment and upgrade of an MD530F helicopter, including a complete digital avionics package and modern interior.  It will then be populated, painted and made ready for delivery in September.

The latest full-scale airframe refurbishment and complete avionics modernization is for repeat customer, Robert Reish, of El Dorado, California. A similar project for Reish was completed and delivered in 2012.

The avionics package includes a 1000H Pro primary flight display by Aspen Avionics, for which Phoenix Heliparts will earn a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC). Other featured equipment includes Garmin GTN 750 WAAS GBS, Garmin GDL 88 ADS-B, Garmin GTX 33 IFR-certified digital Mode S transponder with data link capabilities and 250-watt output, and a Davtron M803 clock that provides universal, local, flight, and elapsed time with display annunciators.

A wire strike kit will also be installed on the upper and lower fuselage, as well as a Phoenix Heliparts’ STC’d compressor inspection panel.

Reish said, “The team at PHP is second to none in our view. They deliver a unique product, customized to our specification, on-time and on-budget. I couldn’t be happier with the very professional, customer-first service they give. I am a repeat customer for a good reason.”

Phoenix president, Tina Cannon, said “We are privileged to welcome Mr. Reish again, and we are excited to be undertaking this complex project for him. He will be a key part of the project throughout the modification process, and will ultimately have an aircraft that is uniquely customized specifically for him, and his wife Kathie.

“Our refurbishment skills bring new life to legacy aircraft including both rotary and fixed wing  for customers worldwide.” Cannon added that her shop currently has ten aircraft in process and is nearly fully booked to the end of the year. “We may have to expand again."

Phoenix Heliparts offers its Total Support Team to to support a multitude of aircraft types, including the MD 500 series, Bell UH-1, Bell 407 and AH-1 Cobra helicopters, and fixed-wing aircraft such as the Bombardier Dash 8-315 aircraft that Phoenix Heliparts recently modified for the US State Department.
