Crews Searching In Nevada For Source Of ELT Signal

Believed To Be From Missing SR22

ANN REALTIME REPORTING 12.19.06 1615 EST: Search crews in southern Nevada are trying to locate the source of an emergency locator transmitter signal, that may be from a missing Cirrus SR22.

FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said relatives reported the plane missing Monday night, after it failed to arrive in Henderson, NV. The plane departed Winslow, AZ earlier that day.

Officials do not know how many people were on the plane.

Low clouds and snowfall were reported in the area Monday, with lingering storms continuing through Tuesday. Online records do not show any IFR flight plans filed for the aircraft's intended route.

ANN will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
