NTSB On Site In Wheeling

Investigating PA-32 Accident That Killed Five

Federal investigators were on the scene Tuesday in Wheeling (WV), where a Piper PA-32 (file photo of type, below) Saratoga went down Sunday, killing all five people on board.

WTAE-TV reports Gary Egbers, the president and CEO of Illinois-based Commercial Packaging, was killed in the accident. Sales executive Mark Long and customer account specialist Tracy Gibson also died, along with Tom Hollar, a business associate, and the pilot, Brian Bastion, of Illinois.

Senior NTSB Investigator Steve Demko told the television station that the investigation would probably last three days before the wreckage is moved to Delaware for reconstruction. A preliminary NTSB report is due next week.

The terrain at the crash site is reportedly very rough and rocky. It's located about a mile from the Wheeling-Ohio County Airport.
