Superior Air Parts' President/CEO Tim Archer Resigns

Superior Air Parts has disclosed to ANN that Timothy T. Archer has resigned as the company’s President and CEO.

“I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Tim for all that he has done for Superior and Thielert,” said Frank Thielert, CEO, Thielert AG, upon accepting Mr. Archer’s resignation. “Superior has gone through a number of changes in the past year and Tim’s guidance has kept the company stable through it all.”

“Over the past 12 months, Tim has been instrumental in helping me complete Thielert’s acquisition of Superior and the merging of our two companies,” Thielert said.

“His dedication and vision for the company’s future has helped guide Superior to where it is today – as one of the true innovators in general aviation piston parts and engines.”

“Words cannot express how proud I am of what I, and my team here at Superior, have accomplished in just eight short years,” Archer said. “With the recent FAA certification of the Vantage Engine and the increasing popularity of our XP-Engine family for the sport aviation market, to becoming part of Thielert AG, I have helped grow Superior from a leading PMA parts supplier to the newest, most innovative, piston engine manufacturer in general aviation.”

“I’ve done what I set out to do,” Archer said, “and now that Superior is part of a dynamic company like Thielert, it’s time for me to move on to other challenges.” Archer’s last day as Superior’s president and CEO will be Friday, January 26, 2007.

Superior Air Parts, Inc, is now a division of Thielert AG of Germany, and is the manufacturer of the new FAA certified Vantage Engine. The company is also a leading manufacturer of FAA approved aftermarket cylinders and replacement parts for Lycoming and Continental aircraft engines. In addition, the company manufacturers the XP-Engine family for experimental and sport aircraft builders.
