Lost Luggage From International Flights Found In Houston Trash

Pet Shop Owners Find Baggage In Dumpster Behind Store

The FBI remains baffled as to how and why luggage from various international flights found their way into a dumpster behind a Houston pet shop.

Harris County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Sergeant Dana Wolfe told the Associated Press the luggage came from passengers at Houston's George Bush International Airport going to or from London and Dubai.

Special agent Rolando Munoz said the FBI was contacted, and the 68 bags were returned to Continental Airlines.

According to Munoz and Wolfe, the Houston Police Department is handling the case. A spokesman for the department had no further details as of last night.

Continental doesn't know if the bags were stolen or not.

Airline spokeswoman Mary Clark said, "We're going to be investigating and the authorities are going to be investigating."

Clark said Continental was working with other airlines to match the baggage tags and find the owners. She didn't say which other airlines were involved.
