Pilot, Passenger Of L-39C Jet Sued

Plaintiff Is Driver Of A Car Hit By Power Lines Snapped By Low-Flying Airplane

You'll probably recall the story about the pilot of an L-39C jet buzzing Be Beque Canyon in Colorado in 2015, snapping power lines in the process that whipped through the air and hit several cars.

Now, the driver of one of those cars has sued the pilot and passenger that were aboard the airplane when the incident occurred.

The Denver Post reports that the suit was filed in federal court by 47-year-old Stephen Centofanti, who was driving westbound in I-70 at the time. He says he has lost dexterity in both of his hands after "gripping the steering wheel in a panic fearing for his life and the lives of his passengers." He said the jet appeared to be coming straight at him on the road.

No serious injuries were reported by authorities at the time of the incident.

Centofanti named pilot Brian Evans, passenger Raymond Davoudi, and various businesses connected with the aircraft as defendants in the suit.
