FlightSafety Celebrates Its 65th Anniversary

Company Founded March 29, 1951

FlightSafety International on Tuesday marked the 65th anniversary of its founding. The company was incorporated in the State of New York on March 29, 1951.

“Today we commemorate and celebrate FlightSafety’s 65th anniversary. Throughout our history, we have focused on our mission to enhance aviation safety while providing outstanding Customer service and the highest quality training and equipment,” said Bruce Whitman, Chairman, president & CEO. “We are most grateful to our Customers for the opportunity to be of service and to our Teammates for their dedication to excellence.”

“We will always be truly thankful to Al Ueltschi for founding this outstanding company,” he added. “Al’s vision, leadership, and commitment to safety are best summarized in his, and our, belief that the best safety device in any aircraft is a well-trained crew. This is as true and important today as it was in 1951.”

When the first aircraft built specifically for business aviation took flight, FlightSafety was there, working directly with Customers and aircraft manufacturers to develop and deliver safety-focused training.

Today FlightSafety serves business aviation, commercial airlines, and governments and military agencies around the world. Close to 1,800 instructors deliver more than 4,000 courses for 135 aircraft models as well as new advanced training programs and specialty courses throughout the company’s global network of Learning Centers and online through eLearning.

FlightSafety is a leader in the design, manufacture and support of flight simulators, visual systems, displays, and other advanced-technology training equipment. They are part of a proven integrated training system used at FlightSafety’s Learning Centers. Many leading commercial, government and military organizations worldwide rely on FlightSafety’s advanced technology equipment and mission-critical training products and services. FlightSafety’s manufacturing facilities are in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; St. Louis, Missouri; and Austin, Texas.

Innovation serves as an integral part of FlightSafety’s culture. Teammates have designed and developed countless products, services, and training programs that continue to strengthen the company’s ongoing leadership position and role as a partner in safety. FlightSafety’s Customer-focused, family-oriented culture provides an atmosphere of teamwork, creative thinking and entrepreneurial spirit. The result is a company that continues to move forward, exploring ever better solutions for enhancing safety and ensuring proficiency.
