Lewis Jordan To Address The Atlanta Aero Club

Co-Founder Of ValuJet And Its Successor, AirTran Airways Guest Speaker November 29th

Lewis Jordan, who co-founded ValuJet Airlines and its Successor AirTran Airways, will be the featured guest speaker at the regular bi–monthly meeting of the Atlanta Aero Club scheduled for November 29th. Jordan served as Chairman of AirTran until his retirement from active management in 1997 and continued as an active member of the AirTran Board until the company's acquisition by Southwest Airlines in May 2011.

During a distinguished 49-year career in commercial aviation, Jordan (pictured) served as president of three major airlines including ValuJet, AirTran and Continental. He also served as Vice President of Operations for Flying Tigers, the world’s largest international cargo and military transport airline which is now part of Federal Express.

Jordan, who is a graduate of Georgia Tech and also worked for Southern Airways, currently serves as CEO of Gratitude America, Inc., a nonprofit organization he founded that focuses on community support for veterans, their families and families of the fallen.

The meeting is scheduled for noon on November 29th in the Grand Ballroom of the Capital City Club in downtown Atlanta. The cost is $40 for members and $45 for non-members and includes lunch.
