Kent State University To Get New Piper Arrow Trainer

Largest Flight Training School In Ohio

Piper Aircraft will deliver a new Piper Arrow pilot training aircraft to the Aeronautics Division at Kent State University’s College of Applied Engineering, Sustainability and Technology. Today’s announcement was made on the first day of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, which runs through July 26.

“Kent State’s Aeronautic Division continues to look to Piper for quality aircraft to bring up our next generation of pilots,” said Robert G. Sines, Jr., Dean of Kent State’s College of Applied Engineering, Sustainability and Technology. “We look forward to taking delivery of another new Piper single-engine Arrow trainer that will join our fleet and operate from Kent State’s Andrew Paton Field, one of very few unique university-operated airports globally.”

The Kent State Aeronautics Program is the largest flight training school in Ohio and flies from Kent State University Airport in Stow, Ohio. The program hosts more than 500 students seeking degrees in Flight Technology, Aviation Management, Aeronautical Systems Engineering Technology, Aeronautical Studies, and Air Traffic Control.

“This Piper Arrow will join Kent State’s training fleet of more than 20 single-engine and two twin-engine aircraft,” said Piper President and CEO Simon Caldecott. “The Arrow is the only complex single-engine trainer available today. We are grateful to work in concordance with Dean Sines and Kent State, providing a training tool with a proven track record of assisting student pilots to become full-fledged aviators.”
