Transport Minister Announces Appointment to Toronto Port Authority

Canada's Transport Minister, David Collenette, has announced the appointment of Paul A. Hayes, of Toronto, to the board of directors of the Toronto Port Authority. "I am pleased that Mr. Hayes has agreed to take on new responsibilities with the Toronto Port Authority," said Mr. Collenette. "His extensive experience in aviation, business and marketing will serve him well as he takes up his duties on the board of directors."

Mr. Paul Hayes is a commercial pilot who holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Toronto. He currently serves as president of AeroCan Aviation Specialists Inc., an aviation-management consulting firm. From 1970 until 1983 he worked as a management consultant for Peat Marwick and Partners (now KPMG). An active member of the Air Force Association of Canada and Past Chair of the Toronto and Region Branch of Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, he has also served as director of the Canadian International Air Show. Mr. Hayes performed military service in the Canadian Air Force, Regular and Reserve, attaining the rank of brigadier-general.
