Blue Origin NS-31 Aims For April 14 Launch

All-Female Crew To Lift Off From Launch Site One In West Texas

Blue Origin announced its NS-31 mission will lift off from Launch Site One in West Texas on Monday, April 14, 2025. The company’s 11th human space flight will lift the all-female crew of Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguy?n, Gayle King, Katy Perry, Kerianne Flynn, and Lauren Sánchez on a suborbital flight. The flight will be powered by the New Shepard booster rocket, its 31st launch, and the launch window will open at 8:30 am CDT / 13:30 UTC.

Launch Site One is located on the Corn Ranch, about 30 miles north of Van Horn, Texas, and east of El Paso about 102 miles as the crow flies. Jeff Bezos, owner of Blue Origin, purchased 165,000 acres for the spaceport in 2004.

In addition to the launch schedule, Blue Origin also revealed the NS-31 mission patch. Some of the key symbols in the patch include:

The target star at the top symbolizes Aisha Bowe’s ambition for setting big goals, passion for STEM, and commitment to inspiring future generations.

The scales of justice symbolize Amanda Nguy?n’s efforts to advocate for civil rights, break barriers, and empower everyday people to create change.

The shooting star microphone represents Gayle King’s commitment to sharing important stories with the world.

The firework symbolizes Katy Perry’s global influence across music, pop culture, and philanthropy.

The film reel symbolizes Kerianne Flynn’s passion for filmmaking, storytelling, and crafting beautiful narratives.

Flynn the Fly, the main character in Lauren Sánchez’s bestselling children’s book, The Fly Who Flew to Space, is along for the ride. The story is about overcoming adversity, inspiring kids with learning differences to pursue their dreams.
