Man Sustains Minor Knife Wounds At EAA's Camp Scholler

Incident Occurred At The End Of The Pathfinder Camporee On The Grounds

Well... we guess AirVenture really is over. One person was slightly injured Saturday night following a confrontation on the grounds of Camp Scholler adjacent to Wittman Field in Oshkosh.

The Winnebago County Sheriff's office said an altercation took place between two men at the end of the Parthfinder Camporee being held at the campground. The two men who have not yet been identified allegedly had an argument on the grounds. One pulled a knife, cutting and slightly wounding the other.

The victim was treated at Mercy Medical Center and released. A Sheriff's deputy told the Oshkosh Northwestern that the victim was cut on the neck and hand. The 36 year old suspect was expected to be arraigned Monday

Both men involved in the incident are members of The Pathfinders, a non-denominational group sponsored by the 7th Day Adventist Church. Some 35,000 people attended the week-long Camporee, which is held every five years and included service projects around the region. Pathfinder spokesman George Johnson told the paper the group is cooperating fully with the Sheriff's department, and that it will be up to the New York chapter of the Pathfinders to which both of the people involved in the incident belong to determine if they will remain affiliated with the organization.
