The MedEvac Foundation International has awarded the 2018 Safety Management Training Academy (SMTA) Scholarship to Steve Docekal, Director of Maintenance for Health Care District of Palm Beach County and Amanda Ball, Safety Officer and Outreach Coordinator for MedFlight of Ohio.
Bipartisan Group Introduces Legislation To Promote Aviation Careers
On Tuesday, May 8, a bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers, led by Rep. Sam Graves (R-MO), introduced H.R. 5701 to establish an aviation maintenance workforce development pilot program. In addition to Graves, Rep. Daniel Lipinski (D-IL), Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) and Rep. Brenda Lawrence, (D-MI) introduced the legislation that is designed to encourage more men and women to pursue careers in aviation.
A new ASTM International standard aims to enhance small aircraft safety by supporting non-essential ice detectors. The new specification (F3310) was developed by ASTM International’s committee on general aviation aircraft (F44).
