MOSAIC Comment Drafting Guide Goes Live

Submissions on Next-Gen LSA Rules Accepted Until 01/22/24

The EAA has helped aviators weigh in on the FAA's proposed MOSAIC changes ahead of the January 22nd cutoff, publishing a guide to draft effective comments. The EAA encourages members who comment independently on the FAA MOSAIC proposal to "do so with suggestions and recommendations that highlight the proposal’s positive benefits for general aviation." Ideally, those comments will provide "constructive recommendations to enhance the FAA’s proposal. EAA’s comments will reflect overall support on behalf of our membership, while providing key recommendations for enhancing the proposal."

Hyundai Shows Off Newest AAM Prototype at CES 2024

Unusually Traditional Offering Sports 120-mph Cruise, 8 Rotors

Supernal, a Hyundai Motor Group subsidiary, showed off its S-A2 concept at CES 2024. The 2+2 electric aircraft is "the latest milestone in Supernal's roadmap to commercialize safe, efficient and affordable everyday passenger air travel" according to the marque. The design is a bit unorthodox given its Korean origins - most eVTOL designs are aimed at providing affordable and eco-friendly air taxi service, but Supernal built the S-A2 around the more traditional aircraft layout of 2 pilots and 2 passengers.

NTSB Prelim: Cirrus Design Corp SR22

The Airplane Impacted Trees And Terrain And Came To Rest Against A Home

On December 26, 2023, about 1813 central standard time, a Cirrus Design Corp SR22, N858RC, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Canton, Texas. The pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated under Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 as a personal flight. A witness heard radio transmissions from the pilot of N858RC reporting that the airplane was west of Thompson Field Airport, Canton, Texas. He then heard additional transmissions from the pilot reporting that the airplane was on the downwind, base, and final legs for runway 13, which was equipped with solar powered deck lights.
