"I have directed the FAA to reopen the comment period
for 90 days... There will be a full public
meeting."
Source: Department of Transportation Secretary
Norman Mineta, announcing to a packed house at AOPA Expo 2005 that
Washington is listening (at least a little) to the voice of the
general aviation community on the multitude of issues surrounding
the Washington D.C. ADIZ. Mineta announced the comment period on
the ADIZ will be reopened for another 90 days, allowing
aircraft owners to weigh in with the FAA. The
announcement drew cheers from the crowd, as did word a public
meeting (not just be represented by Transportation agencies such as
FAA, but also including security agencies) will be held on the
matter.
